In recent years, the City of Rome has brought brownfield and underutilized sites back into productive use. Rome Rises was born as a byproduct of branding and marketing efforts through its Brownfield Opportunity Area projects in which Rome's downtown area has been branded as a hub of arts and culture, while paying homage to its historic past.
